If your horse tends to fall in on a circle… drift through the shoulder… or feel harder to keep balanced one way… It usually links to the same thing: Your horse is finding one side easier to use than the other. So instead of staying evenly balanced… they shift their weight, rely on what feels easier, and fall into that pattern.
Topline isn’t something you build directly. It’s something that develops as a result of how your horse moves. So if your horse is still: uneven relying more on one side not quite using their body correctly They physically can’t build the topline you’re aiming for. Because the body will always strengthen around the way it’s being used.
If you’ve ever felt like one rein is harder… your horse feels stiff… or something just isn’t quite even… You’re not alone. This is one of the most common things I see. And it’s easy to label it as stiffness. But in many cases, what you’re feeling isn’t actually stiffness at all.
